After a lot of hard work pulling out problem roots, the area has been cleared in preparation for sowing seeds for the wildflower meadow. The top layer of soil has been scraped to remove the top layer of nutrient rich soil, which is not ideal for wild flowers.
The seeds themselves will be perennial species but a nurse crop of annuals will be sown in, to create a first season display, as well as assisting the growth of perennial species.
The seeds will be sown soon and the meadow should start to develop in the spring 2016.
