Go Rewild Project
“Supported by the Mayor of London, in partnership with the London Wildlife Trust.”
Pimp Hall Nature Reserve is a SINC located in Chingford in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The Rewild London Fund will support the owners and managers of the site to improve it for wildlife, and ensure it remains resilient in the face of the climate and ecological emergencies.
London's Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINCs) make up London's core wildlife network. They must be at the heart of our action to rewild the city and recover nature.

What will be happening?
During 2022/2023 the Go Rewild Project will establish a wildlife orchard, plant native hedgerow in Pimp Hall Nature Reserve and restore the historic pond in Pimp Hall Allotments.
Local Volunteers, Allotment holders, LBWF Council Officers and Contractors will all come together to make the project a success.
Historic Pond Restoration
Pimp Hall Allotments
(Jan 2022). The pond is approximately 16m x 10m and is in the latter stages of succession with very little open water. It is a clay puddled pond and has a history of amphibian activity. It will undergo significant restoration to prevent the pond from drying up, with the removal of silt and non-native plant species. Which will then be replaced by suitable native aquatic plants, to improve oxygen levels in the water.

Wildlife Orchard Creation

Our new orchard will be a mix of fruit and nut trees located in the centre of the reserve. The site will also be managed to enhance areas of wildflower meadow alongside wildlife rich grassland.
